Two For Tea

I was thinking about how wonderful it can feel to hold something heavy in the hand. It is grounding, an absolute pleasure, as long as it is not too much. And the surprise, when you try to lift a cup and it is heavier than expected!

(Tea is light and heavy. This is an appreciation haiku about drinking tea <3.)

My cast-iron teapot is over 15 years old, and I haven’t treated it the way it deserves… now it has a bit of rust on the inner side of the lid. It made me think of the signs of use, age and treatment (of tools, bodies, hulls). They deserve care. We deserve care.

Very lovely. It hits just the right balance.

I’m so surprised you have a cast iron cup. I was given a pot with no cups.
