Just a few days in on my social media absence, and I’m fine. I’m good. I mean I’m really okay with less fast consumption. I’ve read more (Butter by Asako Yuzuki). I’ve picked up a manga (ano hana). I haven’t written anything big and foremost not daily. Instead, some haibun got a new coat aka I’ve polished them until they started shining like the sun at noon in August. I’ve also watched some series, have finished knitting a jumper (it is currently drying on the rack, and I can’t wait wearing it!).
I’m also dealing with emergencies as they emerge.
So far, so good. I hope some more people will subscribe to my blog. I still check my DMs on Instagram and on Facebook, but just accessing them on my computer. Because it forces me to be attentive. To not just type and swipe on my bus ride somewhere or while I’m cooking. You know. I want a bit of pre-smartphone times back.
Consumption is addictive. (Maybe that’s the best way to finish that post, with something that is heavy on my mind.)
Balance is hard to find and to keep. That doesn’t mean one shouldn’t aim for it.
I find
my blood
on the sheets
again
the sharp full moon
