Arches and Archers

A set of cacti on the balcony floor next door . . .
I ask of him to grow outside of my soil.

The tracks in my mind don’t cross with his,
still, storytelling happens between polka dots.

This body, too loose, too sized, uncoordinated—
I place a toothbrush and a pen onto the sideboard.
